Our Merchandising Tips
A store window tells a story through a staging, where the display mannequin plays a central role. It can highlight a key outfit, catch the eyes of passersby, or convey a specific message.
Regular Renewal
Regularly renew your window displays to create differentiation, enhance your products, and attract the attention of passersby.
Create Your Window Display Step by Step
Choose a Theme
Determine the universe you want to convey: a new concept, a collection to present, a new season. The combination of objects, textures, colors, and mannequin styles contributes to this staging. For example, a moving mannequin will bring realism to your window display.
Element Selection
The choice of mannequins is crucial. Take an inventory of your mannequins to decide if it is necessary to renew them or if some can be reused. Ensure that the chosen mannequins fit the desired theme.
Mannequin Style
Mannequins can be realistic, abstract, stylized, headless, female, male, children, or busts. Realistic mannequins require details such as wigs and makeup, while stylized mannequins are easier to maintain.
Mannequin Position
Realistic mannequins offer a variety of positions. Choose them according to the desired staging so that they harmonize well.
Finalizing the Decoration
Use objects, or "props," to finalize the dressing of the window. They should highlight the product without stealing the spotlight. Be modest and avoid overloading the window: opt for a proportion of 2/3 props and 1/3 displayed products.
Design Your Window Display
It is essential to highlight the focal point of the window to catch the eyes of passersby. The larger the window, the more focal points there will be, located slightly below eye level to guide the gaze.
Color Choice
The colors of the window depend on the season or chosen theme (e.g., blue for spring, red and green for Christmas). Monochromatic or bichromatic windows are effective options.
Lighting
Lighting highlights the products and mannequins, and should be adjusted according to the time of day.
Layout and Placement of Mannequins
Grouping by Repetition
Group mannequins and props to create an effect of verticality and arrangement. This allows for effective and cost-efficient window structuring.
Grouping in a Pyramid
Position mannequins and objects to attract the eye, often by placing an elevated mannequin in the center, surrounded by others. This highlights the products you wish to showcase.
